Cover avocado seeds with paper mâché, paint them like Easter Eggs with water proof paint, put them on top of the soil, water and watch them sprout right out of the eggs. It will be fascinating but thoroughly confusing for the kids, but if animated movies hasn't confused them this will just be fun.
The end that sprouts roots first is the end opposite the flat-ish end. The pointed-ish end is buried slightly in the soil.
What came first? The egg or the tree. This is be a sensation that will sweep the nation like Chia Pets. Your kids will not be able to resist avocado eggs. You work out the details and this idea is yours.

Make the magic of colorful fall leaves and berries permanent by dipping them in melted paraffin wax. You can sell these for flower arrangements and other decorations. Be careful when melting wax, it can catch on fire. Don't use the oven to melt the wax because of fire hazard. It cannot be washed out of the pan, so dedicate one pan to this use only.
Paraffin wax is sold with the canning supplies in the grocery store. It dries clear and lets the colors of the leaves show and prevents them from wilting and crumbling. These leaves are much prettier and more natural of course than the plastic leaves, but warn people not to use them around candles because of fire hazard.
Placed around bowls, pumpkins and in flower arrangements they should sell well. You can rig them to sticks with wire before dipping in wax for use in flower arrangements. The wax can crack so these are delicate and need to be handled with care.
